What Say We? Local Vegan Pizza Night

Vegan Pizza

 We ordered a vegan pizza and it is everything we so desperately needed to hang on. Thankfully, we're at the halfway mark - 20 days in, 20 more days to go. We have tried an official vegan pizza - Friday Night Pizza Night and as noted, it was not a family favorite. We tried it again on Wednesday night and we were convinced that we had given it our best shot - that was it. The problem for us is the vegan cheese. I could only imagine if we never tasted cheese before, perhaps this vegan cheese would give us a sense of what cheese must be like. However, we are cheese lovers and the vegan cheese doesn't even come close to the variety of cheeses that we have had - from aged cheese to the sharpest cheese - to the fermented cheese - to the cheese products - we know cheese.

It was during research for vegan approved food from well known restaurants that I found that Domino's actually has a vegan approved pizza on their menu. I was over the moon excited. I started to create my own pizza and since they were closed, I was placing the order to be delivered at 6:45 PM. I was building my own pizza when I decided to ask my King to join in on the fun. He suggested that I order it from one of the local pizza parlors. He figured that they will at least have that option - especially since being vegan is not unusual. I agreed and placed my Domino's Pizza on hold as I will be back to try their vegan pizza.

Finally, our pizza arrived. It was a strange sight, the cheese made it look like an unfinished product. The vegetables were in tomato sauce on the pie. I was starving and ready to dig in. It was not as pretty as I imagined it would be. I imagined that it would have a rich variety of vegetables. It was just odd, there they were an excessive amount of mushrooms, a broccoli spear randomly scattered around which meant some slices would not have broccoli but we certainly would not be without mushrooms. There were also onions, tomatoes, a few slices of red and green peppers. One bite in and we were singing thanks to the Almighty Lord of the Universe. It was fantastic.

By the time I had my second slice, I was so inspired to add my own special twist to it. Yes, I had my vegan pizza with a twist. I topped it off with avocado. It was absolutely wonderful.
We're on to something here. Next, I will be building my vegan pizza from Domino's, I'll pick up where I left off on that thin crust - stay tuned.
