Lent is Over - Now What?!
Lent is over. Our vegan journey has ended. Now, you may be wondering did we have an all out meat lovers feast, a seafood fest or all the chicken and ribs you can eat buffet? Well, the answer is NO! We are taking our time and working our way back to our lives in phases.
We're vegetarian. Yes, the King had this absolutely genius idea and we are now eating as vegetarians. We can have milk, eggs, cheese, butter - it's a bit different than being vegan as we are still refraining from any fish, poultry or meat.
We were so excited to move on to the next phase, we were planning our first vegetarian meals. We planned on having eggs, pancakes, a block of Cracker Barrel Cheddar Cheese in hand to chomp on caveman style and a cup of hot chocolate with whip cream on top. Oh we were so hyped!
The last night of lent, the King came in and boiled eggs for the next morning's breakfast.
However, the morning came and we were still in reluctant mode. It was not until 1:00 pm that Ally and I had something to eat. We stood at the vegetarian section of the restaurant. Ally decided that she was jumping ship and going to have some fish. I decided on having a big lunch. Mashed potatoes, plantains, steamed cabbage and carrots and broccoli. The King purchased two large pizza pies from his favorite pizza parlor. One plain and one with peppers and onions. It was a Good Friday!!! The best Friday of 2018 thus far in our book.
