Burgers and Fries - Oh My... (Vegan Version)
Black Bean Burger & Fries
Lunch made very easy. Preheated the oven to 425, placed the curly fries and the black bean burgers on the baking pan which was covered with Reynolds Wrap. Ten minutes later, we have a full plate of what was about to happen. Time to taste the goodies. We were confident that the fries would be delicious but that burger not burger was definitely questionable.
We had the black bean burgers without bread. I had mine with fresh spinach. It was filled with flavors of various seasonings. It actually has chipotle seasoning. It was much better than I had imagined. I ate my vegan black bean burger with a fork and knife. If it were a beef burger, it would be cradled securely between the burger buns along with lettuce and a slice of tomato. With each piece of the vegan black bean burger, I had a leaf or two of spinach. It was a pretty good experience. While Ally did not enjoy the burger, I did. I was even prepared to add ketchup to my fries but the seasoning of both burgers and fries - made it unecessary - it wasn’t missed.
The burger not burger was alright with me. I would definitely eat it if it was served at an event. Yes, I think I’m opening up to trying the vegan options at events.
