Saturday Shenanigans

Saturday is here, we are four days in, thirty six more to go. It was a long morning, I did my workout, grabbed an apple and drank some water. I know that the real vegans are well into their day without a thought, they've had a hearty breakfast without the deep deliberations on what to eat. I imagine that they have their vegan eggs and bacon, sausages and muffins - complete with the vegan tea or juice of their choice. Well, I am off to a super start with an apple, it is well into the day so that covers breakfast and lunch. Ally and I headed out to the town to check out the vegan restaurant. Jolo's is a well known restaurant that has great reviews and today's dinner would be less burdensome and completely authentic. They had vegan fish (soy), rasta pasta (seasoned), falafel (slightly spicy chick peas), sweet potatoes(yams), cauliflower, string beans, broccoli, cabbage and kale mix. The dessert was a slice of zucchini cake.We placed our orders and headed home. My order was the brown rice, cauliflower, string beans and sweet potatoes. It was a safe option and unlike the others, I had no fish or falafel. I did take a sample of the fish (wow, almost taste like fish) and falafel (a spiced grainy texture) - not bad at all. It will take time for me to get used to it. However, it was time for dessert. I placed the slice of zucchini cake for a few seconds in the microwave. Ally passed on it. so my King and I shared the slice. It was actually very delicious. We actually wished that we had a slice each. We are coming along really nicely. I am so proud of the vegan team.
